Shopping in Windsor

Windsor has an excellent choice of shops and salons for a town of its size. The town centre has department stores, high street names, a supermarket, and a great many specialist and fashion shops, in addition to shops catering for tourists, beauty, nail and hair salons and a Saturday Market. Whilst shopping, food is always close at hand!

The main shopping areas are Peascod Street, the High Street and Thames Street, Windsor Royal Station / Windsor Yards ( formerly King Edward Court), and Eton High Street. Slightly further out is St Leonards Road. Peascod Street, Windsor Royal Station and King Edward Court are all pedestrianised.

The Waitrose supermarket is in the centre of Windsor Yards (formerly King Edward Court), accessible from Peascod Street and Windsor Royal Station. The development of shops also includes a Zara, New Look and H&M, Fat Face along with Johnsons Shoes, The White Company and Swarovski.  Not forgetting a Costa Coffee of course!

High Street chains are numerous and are located mainly along Peascod Street. Big names include Marks & Spencer and Monsoon. The main Post Office is also located on Peascod Street.  Further down is House of Windsor – a great home furnishing store

For fashion, head for Windsor Royal Station. Many upmarket and fashionable names can be found here, including Hobbs, Jigsaw, Jo Malone, Mint Velvet, Phases Eight and French Connection. As well as fashion, there are also shops selling trendy items for the home.

For those interested in collecting and antiques, the main areas to head for are Thames Street and Eton High Street. Here you will find  specialist shops and galleries, selling everything from teddy bears to contemporary fine art. It’s a great area for window shopping as well as for serious collectors.

Windsor is fortunate to possess two excellent bookshops, Methvens and Hammicks, on Peascod Street, as well as specialist and second hand bookshops in Eton.
